Dr. Mandana Vahabi

Mandana Vahabi, RN, MHSC, PhD is a Professor at Ryerson University, Faculty of Community Services, Daphne Cockwell school of Nursing. Her research program focuses on socio-cultural determinants of immigrant health, particularly issues related to women’ health, health equity, health literacy and access to primary and secondary health care services. Her research approaches include quantitative, multi-method and community-based research. Dr. Vahabi has extensive experience in population and community based assessment, planning and evaluation. In her work with the immigrant population she has also been involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of culturally sensitive and appropriate health promotion interventions.
