Jobran Kanji

A human, a friend and a World citizen, born and raised in Syria. In 2011, as violence swept the country, culminating in a full-scale war in 2013, Jobran felt driven to build up a new career path in the peace and conflict arena, that is when he took his first master’s degree in Post-war studies in 2015 with the generous support from the Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) via the Chevening Scholarship program. In 2016 he migrated to Canada where he contributed to research projects focusing on the challenges that Syrian newcomers are facing in their new homes. Later on, in 2018 and 2020 he founded and jointly managed different community/peace building projects in the diverse city of Toronto. On October, 2020 Jobran finished his second MA program in Political Science at York University ( Toronto , Canada ) with a focus on peace building and the role that Civil society can play within that.
